About me

Hello!

I started my medicine studies at Riga Stradins University in February 2025 at 20 years old. I am now on my second year of studies. I'm from Finland, where I went to upper secondary school (high school), and took a few gap years before applying to RSU.

My original plan was to study psychology, because in upper secondary school I fell in love with the human psyche. When planning my applying to psychology, my family member suggested studying at RSU to me. My family friend was already studying there, and had recommended it. I applied, half out of "why the heck not". I had wanted to be a doctor when I was younger anyway.

When I started my studies at RSU, I was quite annoyed with how inefficient everything is in Latvia. All applications, systems, etc. were so complicated it was so hard to figure out. That's why now, on my second year of medical school, I've made it my mission to create a blog where I write about all the things that were confusing to me at first. I want instructions to things to be accessible.

I'm to graduate in 2031. That seems like a long way to go, but one year passed like nothing. I'm so excited for the future to come, and for how this blog will grow!
