Failing a colloquium is completely normal. It happens to most students at least once during their studies.
So what do you do?
You probably went into e-studies, and opened the "Grades" section. There you were met with a red X where your colloquium is.
Once in my first semester, my anatomy teacher only uploaded half of my grade (theoretical grade) into e-studies and it showed that I had failed! But upon clarification I had actually passed. I was just too hasty into checking my grade. lol...
You have 3 attempts for each colloquium (given that you didn't cheat).
The first two attempts are similar. Both are done on paper or computer, the colloquium usually follows the same format. I know that in some subjects (for example physiology), the retakes might have an extra question if you didn't reach positive points during the course (I'll make a blog post about physiology too, don't worry). Other than that, colloquiums will be on the same topics and the questions will be similar format, unless stated otherwise.
The third attempt is different. If you fail twice or get caught cheating in your first attempt, your final attempt will be an oral colloquium. Usually there will be your professor, as well as someone from the department. The exam will be recorded, in case you have any complaints in the future.
So if you failed a colloquium, do the following:
